The genuine Actisol exit hose shank for the nozzle end of Actisol 12" and 18" wands. Inside the stainless wand extension, a poly tube (30009-12 or 30009-18) carries insecticide from the valve to the nozzle. The exit hose shank is where that tubing connects at the tip end, behind the stainless fluid cap. Its partner at the valve end is the 500019 inlet hose shank. A cracked or damaged shank can leak liquid inside the nozzle assembly and upset the aerosol, which often shows up as dripping or a poor spray pattern.

How do I know the shank needs replacing?
Look for cracks, a split where the tubing attaches, or liquid leaking inside the nozzle assembly. If the poly tubing has come loose or the shank is damaged, the wand may drip or produce an uneven aerosol.
Should I replace the tubing at the same time?
If the poly tubing is hardened, cracked or swollen, yes. Use the 30009-12 for 12" wands or the 30009-18 for 18" wands, and inspect the inlet hose shank at the other end too. Chemicals not labeled for this equipment, especially Vapona (DDVP), can damage the inner tubing and reduce the aerosol to a pinstream.
Any tips for working on the nozzle end?
Back-flush the wand first so it's free of insecticide, and keep the small parts (fluid cap, o-ring and shank) together while you work. The parts breakdown below shows how they assemble.
