The genuine B&G adjusting screw kit for Extenda-Ban valves. The adjustment screw threads onto the back end of the valve cable, and the trigger sits between it and the lock nut. The screw's position sets how far the cable travels when you squeeze the trigger, which controls whether the valve opens fully and closes completely. Replace it if the threads are stripped, the slot is damaged, or it won't hold its adjustment.
| Part Number | B&G AS-148 (22044500) |
| Location | Back of the valve cable, behind the trigger (item #28 on the Extenda-Ban valve) |
| Fits | B&G Extenda-Ban valves on B&G hand sprayers |
From B&G's Extenda-Ban repair instructions: screw the lock nut and the adjustment screw onto the cable. Turn the adjustment screw until the end of the cable is level with the top of the slot in the screw, then tighten the lock nut against the screw. Insert the trigger between the lock nut and the adjustment screw, install the trigger screw, then replace the safety lock nut and snap ring.
My valve won't open fully or won't shut off completely. Is this the problem?
It may just need adjusting. Check that the cable end sits level with the top of the screw's slot. If the screw won't hold its setting or the threads are damaged, replace it. If adjusting doesn't help, the cable itself may be stretched or worn.
The tip drips even after adjusting.
A dripping tip usually means a worn SP-159 soft seat gasket or VS-156 valve spring at the nozzle end, not the adjustment screw.
