The genuine B&G valve spring for Extenda-Ban valves. It sits on the valve cable at the nozzle end of the extension and pushes the seat stem closed against the soft seat gasket when you release the trigger. Over time the spring weakens or corrodes, and the valve no longer shuts off firmly, so the tip drips. At this price, it's worth keeping a few in the truck.

My sprayer drips from the tip. Is it the spring?
It can be. B&G's troubleshooting steps for a constant drip at the tip are: clean or replace the nozzle o-ring, clean the end of the seat stem, clean or replace the SP-159 soft seat gasket, and replace the valve spring. Many techs replace the spring and soft seat gasket together.
How do I install it?
With the cable pushed out the front of the extension, slide the spring onto the end of the cable, then thread on the seat stem lock nut, leaving about 4 threads exposed at the end of the cable. Attach the seat stem in front of the lock nut and hand-tighten it against the nut. The parts breakdown below has B&G's full step-by-step instructions.
Is it in a repair kit?
Yes. The B&G GD-124 repair kit includes the valve spring, soft seat gasket and the sprayer's other common wear parts.
