B&G VT-140 Valve Trigger Kit (22042800)

The genuine B&G replacement trigger for Extenda-Ban valves on B&G hand sprayers. Squeezing the trigger pulls the valve cable back to open the seat stem at the tip. A bent, cracked or broken trigger can't open the valve fully, or at all. Dropped sprayers and trucks are hard on triggers, so it's a common replacement.

How to Replace the Trigger

Based on B&G's Extenda-Ban repair instructions:

1. Detach the valve and extension from the hose, and squeeze the trigger to drain any liquid.
2. Remove the snap ring and the SL-162 safety lock nut from the back of the valve.
3. Slide the old trigger toward the back of the valve to remove it.
4. Insert the new trigger into the space between the lock nut and the AS-148 adjustment screw on the valve cable, then insert the trigger screw.
5. Screw the safety lock nut back into the valve body, and reattach the snap ring.

Frequently Asked Questions

My trigger works but the valve won't open fully. Is it the trigger?
Not always. Check the adjustment screw at the back of the valve. B&G sets it so the end of the cable is level with the top of the slot in the screw. A stripped or damaged screw can be replaced with the AS-148 adjusting screw kit. A stretched or damaged valve cable can also keep the valve from opening.

The valve leaks around the trigger area. Will a new trigger fix it?
No. Leaks around the packing nut come from worn packing washers. Tighten the packing nut first, then replace the VP-151 packing washers if needed.
