The genuine B&G Viton gasket that seals the 5800 and 5800-CC 4-way tips against the 9751-M tip holder. The 4596 tip retainer clamps the tip down on this gasket so it seals while still rotating between spray patterns. Viton holds up to pest control chemicals. When the gasket flattens or tears, the tip leaks around its edge.

Leak around the tip or drip from the tip?
A leak around the edge of the tip usually means a worn 4190 gasket or a loose retainer. A drip from the tip opening after you release the trigger is a valve problem. Check the SP-159 soft seat gasket and VS-156 valve spring instead.
Should I replace anything else?
Check the 4596 retainer threads too. If the tip or holder is worn, the 5850 complete tip assembly includes a new gasket, tip, holder and retainer.
