Actisol 8010049 1/8" Ferruless Tubing Fitting

The genuine Actisol 1/8" ferruless tubing fitting. It connects tubing without a separate ferrule, and Actisol uses it at both ends of the twin tubing: on the wand where the tubing attaches (item #29 on the wand breakdown) and on the Compact unit at the tank and cabinet connections (item #89 on the unit breakdown). A cracked fitting or worn threads can leak air or insecticide, which costs pressure and weakens the aerosol at the wand.

How do I find a leaking fitting?
Actisol's troubleshooting guide says to inspect for leaks with pressure in the tank, including the fittings and the twin tubing. Listen for hissing at the connections, and look for liquid around the fittings at the wand and on the unit.

Any tips for installing it?
Release tank pressure and unplug the unit first. Make sure the tubing end is cut square and pushed fully into the fitting. Actisol's guidance for brass fittings is hand-tight plus about 1/4 turn. Overtightening can strip the threads or crush the tubing.

Should I check the tubing too?
Yes. If the tubing end is cracked, hardened or flared, trim it back to clean, square tubing before reconnecting, or replace the tubing.
