The genuine Shurflo drive and diaphragm assembly (Shurflo calls it the "drive/impeller diaphragm assembly") for 2088 Series pumps. It's the heart of the pump: the motor turns the drive, which flexes the diaphragm to move liquid. Shurflo's troubleshooting guide says that fluid at the bottom drain means a punctured diaphragm. According to Shurflo's service kit chart, this assembly fits every 2088 model listed.

How do I know the diaphragm has failed?
The clearest sign is liquid leaking from the bottom drain of the pump. You may also see weak output or a pump that runs but struggles to build pressure. Don't keep running a pump with a punctured diaphragm, since liquid can reach the motor.
Should I replace the valves too?
While the pump is apart, it's worth installing the 94-232-05 valve assembly, which also fits every 2088 model. Drain and flush the pump before servicing, and tighten the pump head screws evenly on reassembly.
