The genuine Green Garde Teflon valve seat for JD-9 series spray guns. The stainless steel valve closes against this seat to shut off the flow when you release the trigger. Over time the seat wears or gets nicked by debris, and the gun starts dripping or won't shut off cleanly. Replacing the seat restores a crisp, drip-free shutoff.

Replace the o-rings at the same time. When you change the valve seat, we strongly recommend installing the Green Garde 38510 repair kit too. Worn o-rings can keep the gun leaking even with a new seat.
How do I know the valve seat is bad?
The usual sign is a gun that keeps dripping from the tip after you release the trigger, even with fresh o-rings. Inspect the seat for nicks, grooves or flattening where the valve contacts it.
My gun still drips after replacing the seat. What's wrong?
Check the two #38538 nuts at the rear of the gun. Green Garde notes that when tightening them, you should leave a little slack so the valve can seat properly and shut off the flow completely. Overtightening those nuts holds the valve slightly open.
