A 12-volt solenoid for electric rewind hose reels, Cox 20877 or equivalent. The solenoid is the heavy-duty relay between your battery and the reel motor. When you press the rewind button, the small switch current triggers the solenoid, and the solenoid carries the motor's high current. That protects the push-button switch from burning out and delivers full power to the motor. Includes mounting nuts and bolts.
Please note: the manufacturer may vary based on availability. All units meet the same specifications as the Cox 20877.

How do I know my solenoid is bad?
Common signs: you hear a click when you press the rewind button but the motor doesn't run, nothing happens at all even though the battery and fuse are good, or the motor runs intermittently. A solenoid stuck closed can also make the motor keep running after you release the button. Disconnect power right away if that happens.
Should I check anything else first?
Yes. Check the battery charge, the fuse or breaker, and all wiring connections for corrosion before replacing parts. If the solenoid clicks and has power on both large terminals but the motor still won't run, the problem may be the motor itself.
How do I wire it?
See the wiring diagram in the product images above. It shows how the battery, solenoid, push-button switch and reel motor connect. Call us if you need help.
