The genuine B&G pump lock spring for B&G stainless steel hand sprayers. It sits under the pump handle and holds it in the locked position. To pump, you press the handle down and turn it a quarter turn to the left to release it, then lock it again when you're done. If the handle won't stay locked, pops up, or rattles loosely, a weak or broken lock spring is the usual cause.
| Part Number | B&G P-276 (22029900) |
| Location | Under the pump handle, above the pump cap (item #9) |
| Fits | B&G stainless steel hand sprayers |
Why does the handle need to lock?
A locked handle keeps the plunger from bouncing up and down while you carry and spray, and it keeps the pump assembly secure in the tank. B&G also advises never storing or transporting the sprayer while the tank is pressurized.
Is it in a repair kit?
Yes. The GD-124 repair kit includes the lock spring along with the pump gasket, plunger cup and other wear parts.
