Actisol 8010043 1/8" Regulator

The genuine Actisol 1/8" pressure regulator for the Actisol Compact unit. Air from the compressor flows into the regulator, which controls how much pressure is applied to the insecticide tank. That pressure pushes liquid through the twin tubing to the wand, where it meets the air stream and is atomized. You set it by watching the 0-30 PSI gauge. A regulator that won't adjust, won't hold its setting, or leaks makes it impossible to dial in a proper aerosol.

How to Adjust It

From Actisol's operating manual:

1. Unlock the regulator by pulling up on the adjustment knob. If there's a red ring, lift the ring to unlock.
2. Turn the knob slowly clockwise until the gauge reads 10–12 PSI for normal use.
3. For overhead work above 6–8 feet, raise the pressure in 1–2 lb increments until you get aerosol at the height you need. Return to 10–12 PSI when you're back at ground level.
4. During the back-flush after every job, turn the knob counter-clockwise until it stops.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know the regulator is bad?
Common signs are a gauge reading that won't rise when you turn the knob clockwise, pressure that drifts up or down on its own, a knob that won't lock, or air leaking from the regulator body. Check the gauge too, since a faulty gauge can make a good regulator look bad.

Why not just turn the pressure up?
Actisol notes that higher pressure on the gauge makes larger particles and only increases flow rate, so you use more insecticide than the job needs. Keep it at 10–12 PSI except for overhead work.

Can I replace it myself?
Unplug the unit and release tank pressure first. The regulator is part of the manifold assembly, so if you'd rather not take it apart, we service Actisol units in our Phoenix shop. Call us at 602-371-1993.
