Actisol 300093 Red Tip Protector Cap

The genuine Actisol red tip protector cap for Actisol 12" and 18" wands. It fits over the wand's integrated stainless crack & crevice tip to protect it whenever the unit isn't in use. Actisol's manual calls for the cap after every back-flush and whenever you transport the unit. A bent or damaged tip changes the size of its precision exit orifice, which affects the aerosol. The cap also helps prevent spills from the wand while the unit is on the move. It's small and easy to lose, so keep a spare in the truck.

Why does protecting the tip matter so much?
The crack & crevice tip's exit orifice is sized at about 0.046". If the tip gets bent, crushed or closed up, it changes the air-to-liquid balance, and the unit can produce a pinstream instead of a fine aerosol. Actisol's manual notes that a closed-up orifice can be restored with a #56 drill bit, but it's far easier to protect the tip in the first place.

My tip is already damaged. What else should I check?
