The AR1636 gear reduction box mounts an Annovi Reverberi AR30, AR303 or AR403 diaphragm pump directly to a 5–6 HP four-stroke gas engine with a 3/4" keyed shaft and SAE J609a flange, such as a Honda GX160 or Briggs & Stratton. It reduces the engine's speed by about 6:1 to the pump's rated operating speed. It's a common setup on lawn and pest control spray rigs, and it replaces the Hypro 9910-KIT1640 gearbox. That means it also fits the discontinued Hypro D30 and D403 diaphragm pumps.

Use 90-weight gear oil, available at most hardware and auto parts stores. Don't overfill. The dipstick has a ridge near the bottom, so fill only to the ridge. AR recommends checking the gearbox oil every 100 working hours.
Will it fit my pump?
AR lists it for the AR30, AR303 and AR403. Since it replaces the Hypro 9910-KIT1640, it also fits the discontinued Hypro D30 and D403. For an AR40 or other model, call us at 602-371-1993 to confirm before ordering.
AR1636 or AR1666?
AR makes both gearboxes for 5–6 HP gas engines with a 3/4" shaft. They're different designs with different internal parts, so match the gearbox you're replacing. Call us if you're not sure which you have.
Is the gearbox gasket available?
Yes. The AR 620950 gasket is the replacement gasket for this gearbox.
