The genuine Birchmeier piston assembly for the pump on Flox, Iris and Senior backpack sprayers. The pump lever drives the piston up and down in the pump cylinder to build pressure in the tank. Replace the piston assembly if it's cracked, broken or worn so badly that a new piston ring won't seal. NBR (nitrile) components are suited to the water-based spray mixes these sprayers are designed for.

Do I need the whole piston, or just the ring?
Usually just the ring. A worn 262-003-01 rubber piston ring is the most common cause of weak pumping, and it's much cheaper. Replace the full piston assembly if the piston itself is cracked, broken or damaged.
Any tips for installation?
Lightly grease the piston and ring before installing so they seal and slide smoothly in the cylinder. Birchmeier lists a dedicated piston grease for this part of the pump.
Will it fit my AT model?
This breakdown covers the standard Flox, Iris and Senior pumps. The AT1, AT2 and AT3 models have their own parts diagram, so check it or call us at 602-371-1993.
