The genuine B&G valve rod for the Versatool termite valve. The trigger moves the valve rod to open and close the valve against the seat gasket. A bent, scored or worn rod can keep the valve from shutting off fully, causing drips. It's item #4 on the current Versatool diagram and item #5 on the older 484/486 diagram, the same part for both.

Rod or seat gasket?
If the valve drips, start with the seat gasket, since it's the most common cause and it's included in the rebuild kit. Replace the rod if it's visibly bent or scored where it seals.
