Green Garde 38528 Valve Stainless Steel
Green Garde 38528 Valve Stainless Steel
Product Description
Green Garde 38528 Stainless Steel Valve for JD-9 Spray Guns
The Green Garde 38528 Stainless Steel Valve is a replacement internal shutoff valve for compatible Green Garde JD-9 and 38505 spray guns. It works with the 38525 Teflon Valve Seat to stop liquid flow when the spray gun trigger is released.
When the trigger is released, the valve presses against the Teflon seat to create a seal. If the valve becomes bent, worn, or damaged, it may no longer seat properly, allowing liquid to continue dripping or spraying after the trigger is released.
When Should You Replace the Valve?
The stainless steel valve should be inspected when a Green Garde spray gun no longer shuts off completely. Common signs of valve damage include:
- Dripping After Trigger Release: Liquid continues to escape from the nozzle after spraying stops.
- Visible Wear or Damage: The valve is bent, scratched, or has damaged sealing surfaces.
- Inconsistent Shutoff: The gun does not reliably stop liquid flow even after the trigger mechanism has been checked.
Check the Valve Seat Before Ordering
A leaking spray gun does not always require a new stainless steel valve. The 38525 Teflon Valve Seat can also become worn or damaged, preventing the valve from forming a complete seal.
During repair, inspect the valve, Teflon seat, and valve spring for damage or debris. If the stainless steel valve is in good condition but the seat is worn, replacing the seat alone may resolve the problem.
Maintenance Tip: The JD-9 parts documentation notes that overtightening the rear valve adjustment nuts can prevent the valve from seating completely. Check the adjustment and follow the manufacturer's assembly instructions before assuming the valve needs replacement.
