The genuine Birchmeier check valve (valve assembly) for the pump on Flox, Iris and Senior backpack sprayers. It lets the pump push liquid into the pressure chamber on each stroke and keeps it from flowing back. When debris lodges in the valve or it wears out, the backpack won't build pressure no matter how much you pump.
Not the lid valve. This is the pump check valve. If your tank sides suck in while spraying, or the lid leaks, you need the 113-360-01 lid flutter valve instead.

My backpack won't build pressure. Is it the check valve?
It's a common cause. Try cleaning the valve first, since debris is often the problem. If cleaning doesn't help, replace it. Also check the rubber piston ring, since a worn ring causes the same symptom.
How do I keep it from clogging?
Always fill through the tank filter screen, and rinse the sprayer with clean water after each use, especially after mixing powders or granules.
Should I replace the o-rings too?
It's a good idea. The o-rings on either side of the valve are included in Birchmeier's pump and tank gasket set. Call us at 602-371-1993 to order.
The Birchmeier Backpack Sprayer is likely a key component of your business. Maintaining parts so it works properly and lasts a long time is good business practice. There are a handful of key parts we recommend replacing/cleaning once a year to keep proper working condition on your sprayer. The Check Valve is one of those parts.
